Norwood SWAT

Mission Statement - To empower and unite youth to resist and expose big tobacco's lies while changing current attitudes about tobacco!

About SWAT - SWAT is Oklahoma's  youth movement to expose Big Tobacco's lies and deceptive practices.  SWAT Teams around the state are becoming advocates for change in their local communities.  The result is a healthier Oklahoma.  SWAT is a youth-led, youth-driven movement that empowers teens to stand up, speak out, and take action against the tobacco industry, which targets them as replacement tobacco users.

Goals and Accomplishments - Our goal as the Norwood SWAT team is to address issues within our community by utilizing the school website, re-enforcing the school's handbook, and increasing signage on campus.  We plan to set up frequent SWAT booths and display student made posters to re-enforce our 24/7 Tobacco Free Campus policy.  With our accomplishments we can raise student awareness of Big Tobacco and how they entice young people while also exposing the dangers of tobacco.

The Norwood School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.  The superintendent has been designated to handle inquires regarding the non-discrimination policies.
